Since the age of seven I have been active in sports. I began playing sports such as baseball, softball and basketball with my younger brother; I could not help but to be a tomboy. I played baseball until I was fifteen and then started softball once that became a sport at my school. Once graduating from high school I won scholarships to play both softball and basketball at The University of Virginia's College at Wise. I was a captain for the softball team and set many records as well as winning all conference and was an all region player as a pitcher. Academically I earned a BS degree in Business Administration. I have always been consistent at weight training in order to improve as an athlete. Upon graduating from college I continued to train with thoughts of competing someday. I was hungry for a competitive goal to work towards but was not sure about what was involved in competing. My brother competed in his first bodybuilding show in March 2003 and after that I knew I had to do one as well! He kept asking me "when are you going to do one Steph?" With guidance from my husband Doug Miller, I decided to compete in my first show. I surprised my brother by competing in the same show as him August 6th, the OCB Central Atlantic States. I won open, novice, and overall figure. I won my pro card and competed two weeks later in my first pro show, IFPA American States (with Doug) and won that as well.

In 2006, I competed in 3 shows: 1 IFPA pro and 2 NPC shows. I placed first in the IFPA show in San Diego. I competed in the NPC BodyRock and placed 6th out of 20 women in my class. A week later I did another NPC show in Delaware and won the overall title and qualified for Nationals.

I just finished a tremendous 2007 contest season! I finished 2nd at the IFPA Gaspari Nutrition Pro Classic and wrapped up the season with a 1st place victory at the IFPA Yorton Cup Pro Internationals. I also just celebrated my one year anniversary with my husband, Doug Miller, who also competed this year. He took 1st at the IFPA Gaspari Nutrition Pro Classic and 2nd at the IFPA Yorton Cup Pro International. We are both very pleased with our accomplishments in 2007 and feel like we brought our personal best.

In 2008 I plan to take off from competing, but my training will be as intense as ever. This year I will focus my attention on developing “Stephanie Miller’s Personal Training” and “Team Miller” nutritional, training, and competition prep programs and workshops. I will continue to train the majority of my clients out of Fitness First in Tyson's Corner, Virgina

  • My Goals:

  • To be a positive role model for all female athletes
  • Inspire others to live an active and healthy lifestyle
  • To continue to place well in all future shows
  • Own my own gym
